The representatives of all municipal groups unanimously supported the provisional approval of Madrid Nuevo Norte during a plenary session of the Madrid City Council. This historic unanimity ends the planning phase of the municipal administrative process, pending its final approval by the Government of the Community of Madrid.
DCN expresses its satisfaction for the decision made today and welcomes the unanimous approval of Madrid Nuevo Norte, which confirms that this is a crucial project for Madrid and very important for Spain. We are proud to have contributed to this outcome and will continue to work to get it moving quickly.
Madrid Nuevo Norte will create 10,500 new dwellings (20% of which will be social housing) and a business district with more than one million m2 of state-of-the-art office spaces, next to a renovated Chamartín train station. This will decisively contribute to placing the Spanish capital at the forefront of Europe’s pioneering and sustainable cities, improving the quality of life of millions of people.
